Fiberglass floor plates from Direct Metals® are lightweight, durable, and low maintenance. Our fiberglass floor plates set the standard for high performance structural floor panels. The rugged structure from our fiberglass floor plates is designed for use in applications where durability and a long life is critical. These fiberglass floor plates feature a non-conductive, gritted exterior that makes them an economical and safe solution to slippery walking surfaces. Non-gritted fiberglass floor plates can be bolted directly to structural beams and used as wall panels that are resistant to corrosive splash.
Fiberglass Floor Plate Applications:
- Fiberglass walkways
- Fiberglass splash walls
- Fiberglass pool decks
As fiberglass flooring, these plates are often installed over existing grating to provide a solid walkway or to extend the life of a high-traffic area. A molded-in, grit-top surface is standard for improved footing. Since these fiberglass floor plates are electrically non-conductive, the possibility of workers being injured by electrical shock is virtually eliminated.
These specially designed fiberglass flooring products are nonporous, easily cleaned by a high-pressure washer, and can withstand cleaning solutions. Standard fiberglass panel sizes are:
- 4-by-8 feet
- 4-by-12 feet
- Other sizes by special order
Custom fiberglass floor plate sizes are available, as well as our fabrication services.
In caustic and/or acidic conditions, fiberglass floor plates provide a level of corrosion resistance that is unequaled, even when compared to stainless steel. In addition, the strength of fiberglass floor plates is evidenced by the ability to support heavy loads. To meet a wide range of needs, fiberglass floor plates are manufactured in thicknesses ranging from 1/8 inch to 3/4 inch. Our fiberglass floor plates are easy to install, with minimum material waste. Fiberglass floor plates are available in various resin systems and colors.
Advantages of Fiberglass Floor Plates:
- Corrosion resistant
- Slip resistant
- Low maintenance
- Bi-directional strength
Fiberglass flooring gritted plates are widely used for:
- Fiberglass gritted walkways
- Fiberglass gritted splash walls
- Fiberglass gritted overpasses
- Fiberglass gritted bridge decks
- Fiberglass gritted pool decks
- Fiberglass gritted trench covers
- Fiberglass gritted odor control covers
Fiberglass Gritted Floor Plates Materials
Fiberglass gritted floor plates are available as solid plate, bonded to fiberglass grating. The standard fiberglass surface is a medium grit, and a fine or coarse grit is also available. As a fiberglass grating supplier, we strive to meet the requirements of our customers by customizing their fiberglass gritted floor plates.
Fiberglass gritted plates are stocked in 4-by-8-foot panels in standard fiberglass/resin system plate thicknesses of:
Standard fiberglass flooring gritted plates have a Class 1 flame rating of 25 or less per ASTM E- 84 and meet the self-extinguishing requirements of ASTM D-635.
