Company Background:
Direct Metals Co, LLC was founded
in 1996 by two friends with a combined 60 years of experience
in the metals business.
Haynes Carswell and Tom Hoover, Jr. had
known each other for over 20 years through their mutual memberships
in the former Steel Service Center Institute, a trade organization.
They realized there was a need for another metals company that
would specialize in perforated metal, wire mesh, grating, expanded
metal, safety decking, fiberglass grating and handrail components.
Direct Metals Co, carries an extremely large inventory of these products in
warehouses in Atlanta Ga. and Chicago, IL. Not only do we have these products
in carbon steel, but also in stainless, aluminum and galvanized, as well as
the fiberglass grating. With a modern communications network connecting all
of our employees by computer and telephone, as well as processing capabilities
including shearing, sawing, punching, drilling, welding and additional fabrication
expertise, Direct Metals serves customers throughout the Eastern United States
and beyond.
In just a few years we have established a reputation for courteous and knowledgeable
service with quick “turnaround” of orders placed. The customer
is truly the driving force at Direct Metals Co. with a strong emphasis by our
